Precision Bearings for Reliable Industrial Performance

Angular Contact Ball Bearings

Single-row angular contact ball bearings are self-retaining units with strong internal and external rings and ball and cage assemblies with polyamide, sheet metal, or brass cages. The raceways of the inward and external rings are offset from one another along with the bearing pivot.

Cylindrical Roller Bearings

Cylindrical roller bearings from Schaeffler are specifically designed to efficiently support high radial loads. Their cylindrical rolling elements ensure line contact with the raceways, providing a significantly larger contact area than ball bearings.

Self-aligning Ball Bearings

In the self-aligning ball bearing, two rows of rolling elements are supported in two raceway grooves in the inner ring. The raceway on the outer ring has a curved form. The cage combines the two rows of balls and the inner ring to form a unit that can align itself by swivelling relative to the outer ring.

Deep Groove Ball Bearings

Deep groove ball bearings are versatile, self-retaining bearings. These bearings, which are of simple design, robust in operation and easy to maintain, are available in single row and double row designs and in open and sealed variants.

Four-point contact ball bearings

Due to the large contact angle on both sides, the bearings can support alternating, pure axial or predominantly axial loads. Four point contact bearings are similar in their structure to double row angular contact ball bearings.

Axial Ball Bearings

Axial ball bearings are pure axial bearings, which means that they may only be subjected to predominantly axial load. However, depending on the axial load and speed range, very small radial forces can also be transmitted.

Spherical Roller Bearings

The outstanding feature of all spherical roller bearings is angular adjustability. This is achieved with a double row rolling element set based on symmetrical barrel rollers, which orient themselves freely on the mutually curved raceway in the outer ring and the two raceways inclined relative to the bearing axis in the inner ring.

Tapered Roller Bearings

Schaeffler tapered roller bearings are convincing due to their high load carrying capacity and precise shaft guidance in an ever smaller installation space. They consist of an outer ring (cup) and an inner ring with roller and cage assembly (cone).

Split Spherical Roller Bearings

Split spherical roller bearings are principally used where the replacement of unsplit spherical roller bearings would require costly additional work, such as the removal of gears and couplings, the dismounting of drives or the dismantling of shaft power trains.

Needle Roller Bearings

Needle roller bearings have needle rollers as rolling elements. In terms of rolling bearing technology, cylindrical rolling elements are classified as needle rollers if the rolling element diameter is ≦6 mm and the ratio of the rolling element diameter to the rolling element length is Dw/lw < 1:3.

Super precision bearings

Super precision bearings are used wherever the application has particular requirements for the accuracy of the bearing arrangement. Using high precision production processes, Schaeffler produces bearings for these applications with heavily restricted tolerances.

Pillow block ball bearing units

FAG pillow (plummer) block ball bearing units consist of an insert bearing mounted in a housing, which can be bolted to a support surface. The FAG assortment includes units compliant with ISO standards.

Adapter Sleeves

Adapter sleeves are suitable for locating bearings with a tapered bore on cylindrical shafts. The adapter sleeves require no additional means of retention on the shaft. Adapter sleeves are supplied complete with locknuts and tab washers. For larger sizes, retaining brackets are used instead of tab washers.
